I know that the godless people in our country have tried to rewrite history and portray the pilgrims as money hungry, selfish and narrow-minded with fortune as their only purpose in sailing to the new world...but I choose to believe what I was taught as a child in school and by my parents...because of their vision, I have no fear today of typing a contrary view to the prominent world view today...Thank God for our pilgrim forefathers!

Old North Church

View from the Charlestown shore where Paul Revere was watching for "one if by land...two if by sea..."  We went to service at the Old North Church this morning.

This was a spur of the moment thing for us...a Boston harbor cruise!  I wasn't really convinced but for my sweetheart I would swim the ocean, fight a grizzly, pick up my dirty clothes....take a harbor cruise!!!  It was money well spent! 

The Freedom trail ticket we bought didn't take us to the USS Constitution or Bunker Hill but the cruise dropped us off at the USS Constitution for one hour...and it was only about a half-a-mile to Bunker Hill!  We hoofed it up the hill and back with plenty of time to spare!  We didn't go on the USS Constitution tour because it was like going through airport security...I AM SERIOUS!!!  Same kind of scanners and National Park Police...needless to say, we took pictures from the dock.  FYI   I forgot a download cable for my Droid and I can't figure out if I can bluetooth to my computer or not so hang with me till I can find a radio shack!

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow house in Cambridge MA

We made it to Cambridge via the T and after we looked around Harvard Square we went up Brattle street to the HW Longfellow house.  This is where he lived most of his life and it was also the headquarters at one time for George Washington.  The house was closed for renovations but we walked around the yard and garden.  He is my second favorite poet so it was a good day for me.  The view above is of the veranda on the south side of the house.

This was my first sight of downtown Boston when we stepped off (actually climbed out of) the subway.!

New York City!

When car salesmen travel they notice car lots, carpenters...new houses, pastors...churches, you get the drift...When surveyors travel they notice fencelines, laths with flagging, men and tripods, etc.   When I'm on a plane I try to figure out where I am by rivers, highways, coastlines etc.  I thought I recognized this land mass as we flew over and when I checked "Googlemaps" sho'nuff it was!

Check me out...a little geography word problem!  I'm flying northeasterly from Atlanta to Portland ME, on the left side of the plane, 4:53p EDT, landing at 5:35p, speed is 300-325 mph...what was the color of the mans tie sitting to my right?...sorry!...got carried away there!  Is this really.....
