The tree in my front yard is blooming! Can you identify it? It has alternate branching and is related to a tree famous in the south.

What is it? I've never seen one like it.
Rhonda, Davy is right, it is a tulip poplar or yellow poplar. It has a big beautiful bloom in the spring that looks like a magnolia.
