Ulysses S. Grant Monument - Vicksburg, MS

While I was in Vicksburg Mississippi taking my Mississippi Land Surveyors Exam, I visited the Vicksburg National Military Park.  This park commemorates the Battle of Vicksburg by Union forces led by U.S. Grant, from May 19, 1863 to July 4, 1863.  I am somewhat of a history buff so anytime I can "walk where they walked" I do.

This monument of Grant is at the  site of his headquarters during the battle and ensuing siege.

  2. I went through the park in about two hours but it would take a week to go through all of it. It is a sixteen mile drive with sites all along the way.

I will not know about my exam until after December. I think I passed but just barely. We have an opportunity for some long-term work in Mississippi so I got the short straw to take the exam! Ralph was in Texas the same day taking their exam. If this keeps up we're gonna have to get us a bus!!! The "Riggsmobile"!!!

  3. Some days I would sell you one but not today. We've been out of the BoggsMobile for a week and three weeks to go. I miss my bed!

I'm sure you both did well on the tests. You are such smart men!
